The design of your outside space will broadly follow this process, but may be adjusted to suit your space. A larger space with extensive requirements might require additional visits to site or meetings, and in contrast a smaller space might require fewer steps.

Free Consultation Visit – An initial no obligation consultation will allow us to talk though your thoughts about your garden and what you hope to achieve. I will explain the design process in detail and answer your questions, The Consultation Visit will be followed-up with a Design Quotation.

Site Survey & Design Brief Capture After agreeing to proceed, during a second visit to the garden, I will conduct a Site Survey and capture the Design Brief through a detailed discussion with you. I will ask you questions about your preferences for plants, styles and materials, how you use the space and more.
I will spend time in the garden to capture garden dimensions, boundaries, levels, existing/retaining structures, plants and trees to remain, light and shade areas, views, visible services etc. I will also take photographs of the garden space. This information will feed directly into all subsequent steps.
- Concept – Using the brief, site survey and other factors, I will design a scheme for the space, a concept, that takes into account elements from our previous conversations, yet adds the themes from the Wellbeing Gardens design principles.
At this point, a design can be presented back to you to take to your chosen landscaper if required.
Further services can be provided if required. These include:
- Planting Plans – I will create planting plans for the space that ensure the right plant is in the right location.
- Construction Plans – I can create additional documentation for other specialists as required for the individual project.
